Bolivia “Looking to the Futurepast we are Treading Forward” at the Giardini at the Venice Art Biennale

Bolivia is being housed in the Russian Pavilion this year following the decision by Russian artists not to take part in this Art Biennale in view of the war in Ukraine.

Bolivia is presenting the "Qhip Nayra Untasis Sarnaqapxanani" project, which reflects the way of life of the Aymara people, who, out of respect for their ancestral territory, disregard borders and live straddling three countries at once.

They believe that the past and the future must move forward together, continually giving meaning to the present.

Among the works on display, we particularly liked those by Alexandra Bravo “Uprooting” meaning, uprooting.

A particularly luminous and colourful work made from tinted feathers.
