Along the Rio de l'Arsenal, it was fashionable to be dressed up, dolled up and decked out, in blue for this lady in all her finery or in red for this couple in their ceremonial costumes who charmed us when the gentleman delicately kissed the lady's hand.

A little further on, gluttony became the theme of the Venice carnival with a gentleman dressed as a carton and carrying an enormous lollipop, a pretty, all-pink doll holding a small golden cage with birds replaced by macaroons on a delicate finger, and her friend in soft green completing the picture by offering us a box of sweets.
