Giuseppe Arcimboldo and his symbolic compositions of colourful fruits were also present, and in the most refined way at the Arsenal in Venice.

We were also particularly impressed by this superb Dutch couple who delight us every year with not only magnificent and unusual costumes, but this time they honoured their country.

They were both dressed in beautiful Delft blue costumes.

The gentleman wore a large Gouda cheese at the end of a sceptre, surmounted by a small farmhouse itself crowned by a windmill. Madam's costume was decorated with glitter, little Dutchmen, two of them kissing, as well as other little windmills, not forgetting the country's symbolic flower: the tulip, of which madam was holding a bouquet and which were also in corollas around her shoulders.

Kisses that were not limited to the clothes they were wearing, as they also treated us to a live kiss while we were photographing them.

Many thanks to them for the work involved in creating and making their extraordinary costumes that contribute to the magic of the Venice Carnival.
