Bona Pieyre De Mandiargues (1926-2000)
Bona Pieyre De Mandiargues née Tibertelli, niece and pupil of Filippo de Pisis, accompanied him to Paris in 1947.She was then totally drawn into the surrealist movement, magic, dreams, sexuality and the occult.
The work presented at La Corderie is an assembly of fabrics from a man's suit, which she dismembers here, creating a bull's head domesticated by the woman.
We should also remember that the bull's head is the Surrealists' most important symbol.

Cesare Ferro Milone spent most of his life between Turin and Bangkok, painting numerous portraits as well as murals.He depicted everyday life in Siam.
The painting on display at the Corderie of the Arsenal shows Me Chani, who was a famous dancer at the Siamese court, sitting on the floor in a graceful pose.
Nenne Sanguineti Poggi (1909-2012)
Nenne Sanguineti Poggi was an Italian woman painter who spent time in Eritrea, which strongly influenced her work.Her painting “Tekkà” echoes art deco and expressionism while incorporating a notion of the exotic.
