Chile, Moving Ecologies, Venice International Architecture Biennale
The message of the Chilean Pavilion is that the challenges that now await us are no longer those of production or progress but the repair of the damage done in ecology. The exhibition aims to imagine the inventory of species in the world to come.
This future is not offered to us as a utopia or an Eden but as a field of experiences, contingencies and situations.
By working on the Chilean inventory of seeds preserved in the city of Vicuna, the exhibition presents 250 spheres containing seeds that Chilean architects will use for their urban challenges of tomorrow.
These seeds will be used to recolonize degraded or contaminated soils and repair ecosystems after disasters, including fires.
